House Sitting

House sitting has been an amazing experience and something that I will continue to do Overseas in the UK , as you can save so much money.

I highly recommend it as a great way to live cheaply and is a good way to safe some money as you don’t have to pay rent or utilities.

6 Weeks in Beautiful Port Melbourne

I was lucky enough to enjoy a wonderful house sit for 6 weeks in Port Melbourne.  Looking after Saffron and Pickles.  Saffron was a very naughty but delightful Bengal Cat,  and Pickles, was old and slept all the time,

The location was perfect, 1/2 a block from the bay and the Spirit of Tasmania Dock and a 5 min walk to the light rail into the city .  I had the best time there and would like to thank Kay for calling me and entrusting me with her delightful apartment and her 2 gorgeous cats.

“I was away for 7 weeks and left my two most precious family members in Julie’s hands.  I returned to find two healthy, happy cats.  Thank you Julie.”

Meet Boots & Peekaboo I had a wonderful few days over Easter in St Kilda,  looking after 2 delightful cats  – Boots & Peekaboo.  I had missed having cats around, after 6 months of not house sitting.  Sharing their funny routines and habits.    I had to makes sure these 2 were inside every night before dark and a rattle of the treat tin, was enough to get them in.  Then a feed of food they loved and shut the cat flap, so they don’t go out again.    Every day they arrived home at the allotted time,  I wonder what they do all day,  it would be funny to pop on a video camera on a cat, just to see.   On the  last night  I had them inside by 5pm,  gave them  a treat and decided not to feed them yet as a bit early, an hour went by and I went to find them and guess what they were back outside again,   had forgotten to shut the cat flap,  little monkeys must have thought yay!!  we can play in the dark.  Mild panic to get them back, in – but they came in straight away as guess what they wanted their dinner,   phew!!!   Lesson there – don’t change the routine.

Loved my time with them,  and a lovely house too with a lovely deep bath, was a bonus.    10168231_10151960334267130_6438782938754111674_n

Boots & Peekaboo’s owner   I write to highly recommend Julie Barker as a FANTASTIC, reliable and caring house-sitter. I recently travelled overseas for several weeks on holidays and trusted Julie to care for both my house and two cats, Boots and Peekaboo. She stayed in touch with me by email during my absence and I arrived home to find contented pets and a clean, tidy house. We met in weeks prior to my trip to discuss the quirky natures of my cats, the security of the house and walk through the “manual” I have created to assist my house-sitters. Julie is an intelligent, friendly individual and I had no hesitation in appointing her to house-sit. I definitely recommend Julie to other house-owners as a responsible, communicative, clean, tidy and caring house-sitter and will be staying in touch for future house-sits, hoping that she will be available again! Testimonials.

I would not have any concern recommending Julie Barker to house sit.  Julie did house sitting for my family in which she had a whole range of animals to look after.

They consist of:

Three Dogs (2 Border Collies and a German Shepard X).

One Cat.

10 Chickens.

13 Sheep.

 One Horse.

I again would like to thank you as I had piece of mind knowing that they were in good hands.  I have never used a House Sitter before and would not hesitate to use Julie again as it was great to come home to happy animals.

 Regards
